How billing works

You always know what a case will cost.

The meter is the length of content you process — not how long transcription takes, not how many times you search it. Uploading is free; you only pay when you transcribe.

Billed by the minute

The meter is the length of content you process, not how long it takes. Basic: $50/hr. Pro: 5 hours included, then $35/hr. Measured in one-minute increments.

Per-case invoicing

Every case gets its own invoice — ready to attach to a reimbursement filing, expense report, or client bill without reformatting.

Review is unlimited

Once footage is transcribed, searching it, re-running review questions, bookmarking and building lists never costs another cent — for the life of the case.

Pricing questions

The fine print, in plain language.

Only the running time of the recording itself — not how long processing takes. On Basic, a 40-minute bodycam file costs $33.33. On Pro, it draws from your 5 included hours first, then $35/hr for any overage. Searching that transcript, re-running review questions, editing speaker names or building witness lists never touches the meter.
Both plans have the same features. Basic is $50/hr pay-as-you-go — you only pay for what you use, no monthly fee. Pro is $200/mo flat with 5 hours of transcription included ($40/hr effective) and $35/hr for any overage. Pro is the better deal if you regularly process 4+ hours per month.
Yes. BodyCam Defense is a reimbursable investigative expense under state indigent defense statutes and the Federal Criminal Justice Act (18 U.S.C. § 3006A). At $35–$50/hour, a typical 3-hour case costs $105–$150 — less than a single hour of most expert witness testimony. Each case is invoiced separately so you have a clean receipt for your fee voucher.
No. Pro includes 5 hours each month for $200 — unused hours do not roll over or generate a refund. If your caseload is light or unpredictable, the Basic plan's pay-as-you-go pricing may be a better fit.
Yes. You can upgrade to Pro at any time from your account settings. If you cancel Pro, you revert to Basic at the end of your current billing period — no penalty, no lock-in.
